Winter Arts Social to Benefit Okaloosa Arts Alliance



The Okaloosa Arts Alliance invites the public to its 2022 Winter Arts Social on Sunday, February 27 from 2-4 p.m. at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center Galleries at Northwest Florida State College located at 100 E College Blvd, Niceville, FL 32578.  

 Join friends and art supporters for live entertainment, refreshments, and fellowship to benefit programs of the Okaloosa Arts Alliance. The afternoon will feature special drawings for tickets to local performances and events. Individual tickets are $20 or two for $35. Reservations can be made online or by contacting Amy at amybaty1@gmail.com.

Okaloosa Arts Alliance Call to Artists- Okaloosa County’s Got Talent

 


It is time to show us your talent! The Okaloosa Arts Alliance invites all Okaloosa County residents to participate in “Okaloosa County’s Got Talent,” which will be divided into categories of vocal, dance, theatre, and visual arts. The Okaloosa Arts Alliance is excited to announce that this contest will be held with Harborwalk Village, Emerald Coast Theatre Co, Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation, Destin Ballet Conservatory, and Dreamcatcher Vocal Performance Studio. These great organizations will be participating as judges and will be showcasing the winners.

Okaloosa County residents may submit one entry per person per category.   Performance entries should be public YouTube links. Entries should be submitted via email attachment or email link to amybaty1@gmail.com. Please include “Okaloosa County’s Got Talent” in the subject line. Also include your name, type of art, and grade or age (optional) in the body of the email. Each category will have its own deadline and details; please click on each category for more information on that category.

Music & Wine at Twisted Grape to Benefit Okaloosa Arts Alliance

Okaloosa Arts Alliance 2019 School Poster Contest Winners


Ft Walton Bch, FL, May 23, 2019— The Okaloosa Arts Alliance would also like to thank all of the Okaloosa County School students that participated in the 10th annual OAA Okaloosa County School Poster Contest.  Although we were not able to make everyone a 1st place winner, all 245 entries were on display at the OAA Poster Reception on Sat, May 18th at the Young Philosophers Society.  Participating schools include: Rocky Bayou Christian School, Crestview High School, Liza Jackson Preparatory School, Edge Elementary, Destin Elementary & Middles School, Youth Village, and Eglin School Age Program. Each 1st place prize was a $75 gift card, generously donated by Eglin Federal Credit Union, each 2nd place prize was a $50 gift card, and each 3rd place prize was a $25 gift card all generously donated by the Destin & Mary Esther Targets.  The winners were announced at the reception and the winners and honorable mentions are as follows:

Okaloosa Arts Alliance Poster Contest

The Okaloosa Arts Alliance (OAA) would like to invite all Okaloosa County School students to participate in the 8th Annual OAA Okaloosa County School Poster Contest.    The OAA wants to know what you consider “Summer Fun”.  It can be anything you can create on paper with markers, pencils,
paint, pastels, charcoal, or crayons.  There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner for three elementary school students (K-4), for three middle school students (5-7), and for three high school students (8-12) in Okaloosa County.   Each 1st place winner will receive a $75 gift card donated, each 2nd place winner will receive a $50 gift card and each 3rd place winner will receive a $25 gift card.   Additionally, the 1st place winners’ artwork will be posted in the OAA newsletter and on the OAA website. 
Any Okaloosa County School student can enter; entries can be submitted by an Okaloosa County School or by an individual student.   The poster contest deadline is May 1, 2017  Please submit only one entry per student.  Posters should be standard size (8 ½ x 11) for the contest and should include, the name of the artist, their grade, and the name of their school.  Please mail your entries to Okaloosa Arts Alliance-Poster Contest, P.O. Box 4426, FWB, FL 32549.  If you prefer you can drop off your entry at the Arts & Design Society located on 17 1st St SE, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548; Gallery Hours: Tue-Fri 12-4 pm , Sat 1-4 pm or at HH Arts at 100 Beal Pkwy S. Ft. Walton Beach, hours are Tuesday thru Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tickets Available-Wine Tasting at Twisted Grape to Benefit Okaloosa Arts Alliance


 Tickets are now available for the Wine Tasting on Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at The Twisted Grape located at 1193 B Eglin Parkway in Shalimar.   Join friends and art supporters by attending this annual event that offers wine, food by The Twisted Grape, live

Okaloosa Arts Alliance Holding Grant Writing Workshop & Grant Opportunities


The Okaloosa Arts Alliance (OAA) is holding a grant writing workshop on Wed, Nov 16th from
12:30-3:30 at the Destin Library (150 Sibert Ave, Destin, FL 32541) in the Calhoun Room. The workshop will be presented by Susan Kneller, OAA Grants chair who is a retired teacher with over 20 years of experience as a successful grant writer, applicant, grant reviewer and member of multiple grant selection committees.  The workshop will cover researching available grants, writing grant proposals- to include the OAA grant application, developing project budgets, understanding the terminology of grants and common mistakes to avoid.  The cost of the grant writing workshop will be $15 for OAA members and $45 for non-members.  Advanced reservations are required due to limited seating.  All proceeds will benefit the OAA. The OAA grant application and guidelines will be available on the website on November 1st at www.okaloosaarts.org  and will also be available at the grant writing workshop.  Guidelines and tips will be covered at the workshop for the OAA grant application as well as the opportunity to ask questions about the grant application. The OAA will be accepting grant applications through Dec 2, 2016 and the workshop is not required to apply for the OAA grant.  The OAA will be awarding a $1000 grant to a local non-profit and a $1000 to an Okaloosa County school to aid in their art and/or cultural programs for 2017.
